"This Hotel is in a time warp. Very 1970's in all respects. If you like prawn cocktail and chicken kiev, this is the place for you.
The rattle of zimmer frames in the afternoon can keep you awake - and I'm well over 60!
Fairly expensive for what it is, but also typical of a breed of British middle-class seaside hotels which can only have a limited future life span but still appear to flourish as long as non-demmanding middle-class British Holidaymakers abound."

Run and managed by resident owners Alan, June and Tracey Tyerman, the Meadfoot Bay Hotel offers a truly home from home atmosphere, where a warm smile and friendly service are very much in evidence and part of the Meadfoot Bay Way. The Hotel is situated just 200 metres from Meadfoot Bay, a delightful, unspoilt beach which holds the coveted EC Blue flag for cleanliness, and where you can relax and watch the tide roll in and out. The hotel offers free parking for cars and operates a totally NON-SMOKING policy throughout the building. Bar & Television Lounges You can relax in our spacious and comfortable Television Lounge that is available for guests to use at any time or enjoy the company of friends or fellow guests whilst enjoying a drink during the evening in the Bar Lounge. Both rooms retain the style and decorative features from the Victorian era with sash bay windows, 11-foot ceilings and decorative cornices and doorways. In the Television Lounge you will also find a selection of books to read and board games including favourites such as Scrabble, Chess and Draughts. Bedrooms The hotel provides rooms to suit a wide range of requirements. As well as standard double, twin and single rooms the hotel has a family room which can accommodate up to 5 people and rooms in which an extra bed or cot can be included in comfort. A double and two single rooms are located on the ground floor with level access to the lounge, bar, dining room and car park. All bedrooms are individually furnished and tastefully decorated, have en-suite bathrooms with either a bath or shower cubicle and have a range of complimentary toiletries. All are equipped with radio alarm clocks, television and tea and coffee making facilities and all are maintained to a high standard. A number a rooms on the second floor have either direct access to the garden or a balcony and these can be reserved for a small supplement Restaurant We pride ourselves on Home-cooking, where the freshest of ingredients and vegetables are used to prepare traditional fayre. We can cater for the vegetarian and certain other special diets (with notice). Each day of the week offers a different menu inviting you to choose from a choice of meat, fish, vegetarian or salad options. Please ensure you pre-book your table in the restaurant to avoid disappointment. Evening meals are subject to availability and may not be available on certain days. A credit card is required as a guarantee, we do not normally take a deposit from your card but we reserve the right to deduct a deposit of 10 pound per person per night. If we take a deposit we will inform you by email at the time this is done. In the event of a cancellation/'no show' the following charges become payable (percentage is calculated against the total cost of the booking and is applied when the value of the booking is greater than the deposit) More than 2 days = Deposit Only; and 0-2 days = 70%. The total of the cancellation charge and deposit charge will not exceed 70% of the cost of the booking, however the minimum charge will be the deposit. Supplements: - No single supplement for single rooms. - Balcony or patio room - 5.00 per room per day. - Single occupancy in a double/twin room - 12.00 per person per day. Reductions: - Children under 2 years stay free except for cot/high chair hire at 4. - Children 2-6 years - 40% reduction (When sharing a room with 2 adults) - Children 7-11 years - 20% reduction (When sharing a room with 2 adults) Sorry, no pets. Latest time for check in is 22. All bedrooms are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted ONLY in the bar/lounge.
